Dear Yuletide Writer of 2023

Dear Yuletide Writer, Treater or otherwise curious person,

Welcome to my yuletide letter, where I will try to give you some insights about my likes and dislikes that go past the barebones DNWs.

I love quiet stories. Intimate stories. Characters trying out new things, experiencing new things, reaching some kind of emotional milestone. It doesn't need to be big, it just has to be important to the characters. Doesn't matter if it's a pair's/trio's first time or if they've been partners for decades. There's always opportunities for new experiences.

If you want to take things AU, I am fond of AUs that take the existing setting and add something to it (BDSM, soulmates, a/b/o, supernatural powers, etc)

If you are interested in writing me something kinky, I refer you to my letter for BDSM Exchange for more details on my likes and dislikes.

Critical Role RPF
I love these nerds and what feels like the oasis they have build for themselves. A space to come together to work and have fun and be themselves, bring in their friends and create something magical together.

Candela Obscura
yes, I admit it, I'm a Taliesin Jaffe stan. But I am also quite fascinated by the whole Lightkeeper structure. The glimpse we see in the intro clips gives an idea of a figure who is removed from the investigations themselves, but has instead a birdseye view of what is happening in Newfaire. I would love to see their perspective, either on the happenings of the series itself, or if you're inclined to crossover, their perspective on something like Sagas of Sundry: Madness or Shadows of the Crystal Palace.

Or maybe a reminiscence into their own past, how they moved from investigator to lightkeeper?

If you want to bring in other characters from the series, I would prefer to see the circle of Needle and Thread.

Sagas of Sundry: Dread
Kayden

There's a story I read, I think on tumblr, about a tattoo artist whose main motivation was spite. He got a happy marriage, his own shop, a white picket fence house, all because people told him it wasn't possible for him. Often, when I think of Kayden, I think of that story and wonder how his live would have continued after Black Mountain, after the catharsis they experienced up on the mesa. Either with or without Tanner (either setting is good with me). In the ONO we learned that Kayden had quit his job and filled his backpack with explosives when he went back up the mountain. He didn't expect to come back, but now he does.
